Opera Barocca
The Awakener of such "emotions" is a multi-genre project Opera Barocca, that maps long time a cultural period, which let in Genius loci of Prague till today the quite clear footprints and somewhat formally is called the Baroque.
The Task of that project is show phenomenons and individual works of music, theater, dance and other socio-artistic disciplines to the public and to commemorate their tradition and often neglected importance.
The Annual Work culminates on the festival Barocca Opera, which is dramaturgically divided into the summer and winter part. Program of cycle of summer soirees is devoted to early music and divertiments in XVII. and XVIII centuries, and largely takes place on the open stage at the courtyard of Clam-Gallas palace which is located in the heart of the historic city center. Winter part of the festival is focused on the theme of Carnival.
The Individual performances, whether consistently ensure the historical accuracy and interpretive conventions or creatively develop their legacy, are always prepared in cooperation with experts on the historic concepts of art disciplines and their common characteristic is the interconnection of the various artistic disciplines and an emphasis on the stage design, which is based on the historical iconographies. A major component of these productions is the emphasis on authenticity of place, stage sets and props, so essential for the former scenic rules, historical costumes, original choreography, baroque gesture, rhetoric, make-up and finally the emphasis on loyalty to the light environment, which is crucial for this type of productions.
The project Opera Barocca is supported by The Capital City of Prague and Carnevale Prague. The Significant benefit is also cooperation with renowned czech institutions, such as the City Archives of Capital City of Prague, National Gallery , The Gallery of Capital City of Prague, the National Heritage Institute e.t.c.
The Visitors' responses confirm that the festival Barocca Opera since its inception, is becoming an important and visible part of the Prague cultural scene, and helps to present Prague as one of the major sites of European cultural heritage.



This year in the middle of August for the third time the ever silent Courtyard of Clam-Gallas residence will light up by the magical atmosphere of the baroque scene, which, although for somebody might seem mysterious or exotic, can generate the emotions, fascination and provide an unforgettable experience for all visitors regardless of age.
